Gary Spencer

Gary lives in the Taylorville Community just south of Tuscaloosa, AL. He married Deb (Hartley) on April 12, 1975 and they have two children. Their daughter, Courtney, is married to Stan McCarter, they have one child, Andrew (11 yrs. Old), and live in Anniston, AL. Gary and Deb’s son, Lil’ Gary is married to Ami, they have one son, Cam, and a baby due in July 2011. Lil’ Gary is serving full time in the United States Air Force.

Gary went to Tuscaloosa County High School, the University of Montevallo, and the University of Alabama, were he was a Music Education Major. He was also the Cheerleader Mascot (now known as Big Al) for the University of Alabama for three years. Gary was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

He is best known by his grandchildren as Pa “G” and works for the Tuscaloosa Police Department as the 9-1-1 Coordinator and has served on the advisory board for Eagles Wings.

Gary is also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, and was voted Alabama’s Best Male Vocalist in 1971. Gary plays the piano and the trumpet.
